Derran's 40-year career in education and non-profit leadership has brought him to this point in
his career of offering his knowledge and skills to other leaders.  He currently leads Wimer
Consulting, LLC, which helps both individual leaders and organizational clients improve
performance and broaden their impact. Derran has been a Principal, Assistant Superintendent,
and Superintendent in high-performing Ohio school districts.  From 2011-2020 Derran was the
Executive Director of Summit Education Initiative, a non-profit leading Collective Impact efforts
to improve educational outcomes for students PK-16. Derran is a member of the National
Speakers Association and is an often requested meeting/convocation speaker and Master of
Ceremonies. He is a graduate of Leadership Akron and a member of several non-profit
organization boards.
