Akron Zoo

Allyson joined the Akron Zoo in 2017 and is currently responsible for the development and implementation of the annual giving program. She oversees all aspects of the annual fund campaign which includes: direct mail, online and electronic fundraising and individual stewardship and solicitation. She is also the key relationship manager for non-profit participation in fundraising, special events, and programs.

She is also the co-chair of the Zoo’s Inclusion Advisory Council and is a member of the Zoo’s Social Media Committee. By cultivating donors and raising funds for the Akron Zoo, she is able to connect lives to wildlife while inspiring lifelong learning and conservation action.

Previously, Allyson worked for the Akron/Summit Convention & Visitors Bureau as well as Downtown Akron Partnership, where she started her career.

As a passionate community advocate and volunteer, Allyson gives of her time and expertise to numerous organizations like the Akron Marathon and other local non-profits. She is a current Akron Children’s Museum Board Member, an alumnus of Torchbearers, a 2018 Greater Akron Chamber Thirty for the Future Honoree, and past Board Secretary and Board Member of Summit Artspace.

Allyson is a life-long resident of Akron – and currently resides in Northwest Akron with her husband, Deron and son, Parker.
