April Marx is Director of Total Rewards for FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
Marx joined the company in 2005 as a business analyst in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) department. She continued to hold various positions within the Finance organization including, Supervisor of Long-term Planning for FirstEnergy Utilities. She then assumed several special assignment roles supporting the company’s Financial Transformation Project before being named Director of Performance & Process Improvement in 2014. In 2016, she accepted a position as Director of Strategic Planning & Analytics. In 2018, she led the Strategy and Corporate Responsibility team and became FirstEnergy Utility Assistant Controller in 2021.
She moved into her current role in January 2023, where she ensures smooth execution of the company’s Total Rewards, including employee compensation, incentive compensation programs, and employee benefits. In addition, she recently has stepped in to lead the HR, Technology team.
Marx holds a Bachelor of Art in Business Economics from The College of Wooster and earned her MBA through The University of Phoenix.
April’s passion is mentoring others within the organization and volunteering at school events. April and her husband are busy parents of three young children and two puppies.
